The Talent Pipeline Subcommittee is hosting our third meeting this year on December 6, 2016 at 8:30 AM at Montgomery County Community College with the topic of Training Strategies.  Our meeting topics are developed with input from our membership and the subject of training has been a constant request.  Everyone can agree on the importance of training and how it impacts our companies’ success.  After following several training studies, the following conclusions have been drawn regarding the positive effects of ongoing employee training:

  1. Decreased attrition rate– Training helps the employee become more secure in the task they are preforming.  This increased level of security boosts employee moral and confidence which leads to less absenteeism and less ultimate turnover.
  2. Fewer accidents– Errors are likely to occur if the employee lacks the necessary skills and knowledge required for doing a particular job.  The more training an employee receives results in fewer accidents and increased proficiency.
  3. Grooming future managers– As employees acquire skills and efficiency during training, they become more eligible for promotion.  This allows the organization to promote talent from within versus hiring candidates from the outside the organization, where the candidate has no knowledge of the company.
  4. Increased productivity– Training improves efficiency and productivity of employees. Well trained employees show both quantity and quality performance.  There is less wasted time, money and resources if employees are properly trained.

Please join us on December 6th.  There will be companies in attendance that have implemented successful training programs, as well as training providers to discuss this very important issue.  You can register at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/talent-pipeline-subcommittee-meeing-training-strategies-tickets-29110697881.
